There’s something a little unexpected digging trenches and clearing sites across the Darling Downs — and no, it’s not a typo. It’s bright pink. It’s built like a tank. And her name is PCPBarbie.
Before you ask, yes — she’s the real deal. Full hydraulic grunt, ready for whatever the day throws at her. But underneath that bubblegum exterior? There’s a bigger story.
A Big Machine with a Bigger Mission
For every hour our pink backhoe is on the tools, we’re donating $5 to Blush Cancer Care — a local charity that supports women facing breast cancer in our community. That’s not a promo. It’s permanent.
Blush isn’t some faceless national brand either. They’re here. Based in Toowoomba. Supporting locals with everything from transport to treatment to a bit of emotional backup when it matters most. You’d be surprised just how much they do, and how quietly they do it.
We thought it was time to help turn the volume up.
Why a Pink Backhoe?
Good question. Honestly? Because it gets noticed. It starts conversations. And when something this bold shows up on-site, people naturally want to know the story — which means more awareness and more funding for a cause that touches so many lives.
Right now, PCPBarbie is working on one of our projects up north in Torbanlea — but you’ll see her on the Darling Downs soon enough. Wherever she’s working, she’s raising money hour by hour.
And let’s be honest — there’s just something great about seeing a pink backhoe out there getting it done.
More Than Just a Machine
We’re also proud to be the naming rights sponsor for this year’s Blush Ball in October — one of their biggest annual fundraisers. It’s a night that brings the whole community together, and if you’ve ever been, you’ll know it’s not just about dressing up and clinking glasses. It’s about reminding people they’re not alone in the fight.
You can chip in too. Whether you’re hiring machinery or just want to show support, donations can be made directly here:
Real Work. Real Impact.
Let’s face it — construction work isn’t exactly known for its sentimental side. But behind every job site is a network of families, neighbours, and mates — and chances are, someone you know has been touched by cancer.
PCPBarbie is a way for us to connect the two — doing the work we do every day while quietly helping people who need it most. It’s not loud, it’s not complicated. It just happens one hour at a time.
Spot Her in the Wild
You’ll find PCPBarbie on sites all across the region. Keep an eye out — she’s hard to miss. And when you see her, you’ll know she’s not just shifting soil. She’s shifting something bigger.
